Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards 2017

Tidy Towns Competition Time again!

The Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards 2017 is in its 26th year, with over 35 entrants competing for 6 prizes in 3 categories:

  • Overall Development approach
  • Wildlife, Landscaping and Built Environment
  • Tidiness & Litter Control, Sustainable Waste & Resource Management & Streets & Housing areas

Prizes are awarded based on improvements in marks received in the national competition year on year. This year the event will be held in the village of Kilteely in the Community Centre, on Thursday June 29th. Starting at 7.15pm, the night will include –

  • a talk on the ‘Wildlife, Habitats and Natural Amenities’ section of the competition by Albert Nolan
  • a talk by Olivia O’Brien (Ballyhoura Development) on ‘Digital Skills’, a free computer class for Tidy Towns groups, who want to improve their IT Skills
  • a talk by David O’Grady (Ballyhoura Development) on Sustainable Energy Communities
  • Presentation of awards, refreshments, and a guided walk of Kilteely showcasing Tidy Towns projects, led by Kilteely Tidy Towns groups

All tidy towns groups across Ballyhoura Country are encouraged to attend

This year, the Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards is supported by Limerick Local Authority & kindly hosted by Kilteely Tidy Towns group.
