Ballyhoura Networking Forum 2018

On Saturday 1st December in the beautiful setting of the Kennedy Rooms, Bruff, Ballyhoura Development will bring together community organisations, social enterprises and individuals from all three Ballyhoura Development districts. The event will commence at 9.15am with a networking lunch at 1pm. Attendance at the events is free of charge. The workshops will form part of the Ballyhoura Networking Forum, an annual event that provides community groups from across the Ballyhoura Development area a space to meet and learn from each other.

Attendees will be facilitated to discuss and learn about how to make their organisation more inclusive, plan for succession, how they measure social impact as well as funding opportunities 2019.

The Ballyhoura Development Community Inclusion Toolkit will be launched; attendees will hear from the pilot groups that took part in the process looking at the inclusivity of their community organisation and measures they could take to make their community more inclusive. The culmination of the work resulted in the production of Community Inclusion Toolkit which will be distributed to groups at the event.

Members of community organisations will be invited to participate in a workshop looking at succession planning for community organisations. The workshop will facilitate community organisations to consider their future, where will they be in five to ten years? The workshop will examine what happens if key volunteers leave? Will all their knowledge and expertise go with them? Who will lead the organisation into the future? How do you ensure survival and manage a process of change?

Information on funding opportunities in 2019 for community organisations will be presented and community groups will have an opportunity to engage with officials from Limerick and Cork Local Authorities around funding opportunities available to them.

The formal part of the forum will conclude with the launch of the Ballyhoura Development Microloan Fund for Community organisations. The Forum is a wonderful opportunity for community groups and members of local voluntary organisations to network, learn and have their say.
