Back with a BANG, whizzle, roar and again in-person, the BSW2021 grand finale takes place on Saturday 13th November, with something for everyone!

Have a wild encounter with live snakes and reptiles from the National Reptile Museum as they show off the wonderful creatures we share this planet with.

Or fully immerse yourself with the surround sound and 360* Dome Cinema visuals that will transport you through time and space in an amazing experience that has to be seen to be believed.

For the kids there are messy Slime Making Classes, Dinosaur shows with Dale Treadwell from RTÉ Junior, or visit the professor who investigates all things that go bang, fizz and boom! And so much more…. get set for the busiest and most fun Science week event yet.

Exploration Dome Cinema Experience:

This fully ventilated domed cinema and mobile planetarium will transport you to other worlds. Bringing images, scenery and galaxies to life as you try to keep up with the 360* experience, and narrated by Liam Neeson, Dynamic Earth showcases the planetary climate systems that affect this planet and other planets in the solar system and gives a simple stunning overview of how it all works together. One that is not to be missed so book early.

Dino Down Under: A uniquely fun dinosaur encounter with Dale Treadwell

Sometimes a little toothy and always enjoyable, meet Dale and his Dino Puppet friends as you venture into the past. With Dale as your knowledgeable guide, learn loads through this interactive journey with Dinosaurs. A huge hit with kids last year, and will no doubt spark imaginations again this year.

Konor Halpin: The Professor

The Professor stole the show in 2019 with his interactive kid-friendly science experiments and demonstrations and is returning with two unique shows that will delight and excite once again.

Cardboard City/ Craft Corner:

Cardboard, sticky tape and a marker - what more could you possibly need?!

As part of SFI’s Shaping Our Future initiative, we want you to get hands-on and crafty, by building the future you would like to see.

Colossal skyscrapers to neighbourhood cul de sacs.  Get imaginative as we all add to the city a create our collective vision to share with the world.

Eco Village:

This is where we make science local. The Ecovillage will be made up of local people and action groups who look at ecology, sustainability and biodiversity right here in Limerick

  • Inland Fisheries Ireland,
  • Local sustainable energy communities
  • Outdoor science classrooms of Griston Bog and Lough Gur

Visual displays, kids activities and a chance to discover how to get involved.

Community Food Initiative: CFI

From healthy food made easy to quick meals on the go.

Fun, relaxed food preparation classes and cooking demonstrations, highlighting great simple food recipes for healthy families.

Our local chef will host a number of cook along information events to get involved in and whet the appetite for more.

Plus plenty of freebies and great prizes in our CFI competitions.

  • This is an indoor event, so capacity numbers have been restricted and all attendees must pre-register tickets ahead of the event.
  • If you are feeling unwell or have any symptoms of Covid-19, please do not attend the event, even if you have registered to attend.
  • All attendees over the age of 18 must-have and show their Covid Vaccine Cert to gain entry. Under 18’s accompanying an adult are not required to show their vaccination cert.
  • As per guidelines, all persons over the age of 12yrs must wear a mask while attending the event indoors.
  • Hand sanitisation stations will be present throughout the venue and we ask you to stick to the designated walkways to ensure social distancing.
