Ballyhoura Development is encouraging everybody to plant, look after and learn about trees, in line with the key theme of this year's National Tree Week: Biodiversity Begins with Trees!

Ballyhoura Development will be distributing native tree saplings to community groups to mark this year's National Tree Week (19th-26th March 2023) and to promote awareness of the importance of trees for biodiversity.

Take a moment to appreciate the trees around you!

What's Involved?

As part of Tree Week 2023, Ballyhoura Development will be distributing native tree saplings to community groups in the Ballyhoura catchment area. These trees can be used by community groups not only to improve the appearance of their area but, more importantly, to enhance an areas' local biodiversity.

By planting trees, community groups can play an important role in improving the carbon footprint of their community, as trees can capture and store carbon.
