The Ballyhoura Summer Networking Forum took place Tuesday night last, on a very sunny May evening, May 30th, in Coote Hall in Kilmallock.

Community representatives came from all over the Ballyhoura Region, over 50 community members in attendance.

The event was designed as an opportunity to feedback on consultations that have taken place across the last few months relating to a community green and just transition and strategy development for the coming 5 year period.

In collaboration with TASC, the evening highlighted some of the key themes emerging from consultation, an opportunity for communities to share their views on the themes and work towards a vision for the area to 2035.

The evening also highlighted the Ballyhoura Young Voices schools art competition of which there were 84 entries received. Telvin Anto, overall winner, attended the evening with his family and received a resounding round of applause for his work. The focus of the competition was “how do young people see their community in the future” and was aimed at Ballyhoura young people from 4-18.

The networking forum provided time for sharing information, feedback, conversation and planning and plenty of cups of tea!
