Ability Programme objectives

1. Assist young people with disabilities to develop the confidence and independence
required to participate in education, training and employment and help them to access education, training, and employment.

2. Build the capacity of mainstream employment services, education and training providers to support the progression of young people with disabilities.

3. Build the capacity of employers to recruit and retain young people with disabilities within their workforce.

The Ability Programme encourages and supports young people to take on meaningful social roles through employment or voluntary positions in their community. It provides tools and supports needed by participants to become more engaged and active within their community at a local, regional or national level.
