Ballyhoura Development Presents Moatville House Conservation Plan & Feasibility Study Ballyhoura Development CLG is currently seeking expressions of interest from interested parties with the capacity to progress Moatville Parklands & Gardens Heritage Biodiversity Park in line with the outcome of the Feasibility Study and Concept Development Plan conducted by Tourism Development International and completed in September 2023. Moatville Feasibility Study & Concept Development Plan Moatville House Concept Plan Overview The overall concept and vision for Moatville presents a historic opportunity to create an exemplar of best practice in rural town renewal by rescuing and restoring to productive use these exceptional heritage assets in the midst of Charleville. Background Moatville House (circa 1730) set in what were once beautiful walled gardens is located in Charleville Co. Cork. The site comprises of a derelict and historically significant and protected house and courtyard buildings, along with twelve acres of grounds. In 2022, Ballyhoura Development, with permission of the current landowner, Kerry Group Plc, commissioned a Feasibility Study and Concept Development Plan to understand the range of potential future development and operational arrangements for this magnificent town central site for the benefit of the community of Charleville and the wider hinterland. The results of the multi-staged, market research programme, and concept design analysis, have identified a very clear set of recommendations for the Moatville lands, outbuildings and the house to be re-purposed as Moatville Parklands & Gardens Heritage Biodiversity Park. The concept plan, underpinned by the extensive and robust evidence based primary research and consultation amongst local community and business representatives in Charleville, outlines the social-economic and environmental case for the re-purposing of Moatville House and grounds. Next Steps Ballyhoura Development are seeking to follow the report’s findings and recommendations and identify an appropriate entity/entities that can bring the Moatville vision to fruition. Expressions of interest are sought from parties, interested in leading future development and operation. All interested parties will be invited to a one-to-one meeting with Ballyhoura Development for further discussions. An evaluation process will be developed to support final decision making in relation to future development and operation options.
