Join us to learn about food production in the Ballyhoura region throughout the seasons and how this can benefit our health, create a new community space and provide an immersive experience around how food is produced in Ireland.

The seasons of Ireland provide a temperate climate which encourages different foods to grow throughout the seasons. Our panellists will look at the many different benefits growing your own food can have, from nutritional benefits, tips and tricks on when to plant, maintaining your vegetable patch, and a discussion on how allotments can help a community grow together.

  • Verling Fitzgerald from the Mitchelstown Community Allotments will speak on how members of the community came together to create a new community space for local food production.

This will be followed by a Q&A session where participants will be encouraged to ask our specialists about their experience with food production.
