Join us for an information day about the Glenroe-Ballyorgan Parish Habitats and Biodiversity project (PHAB) on Wednesday, September 28th from 10:00am to 13:00pm in the Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown

This project supports farmers to address the challenge of biodiversity loss through the enhancement of habitats within the catchment of the Keale and Ahaphuca Rivers and in the uplands in the surrounding areas. 

This project is a pilot programme with a view to future CAP opportunities.


Key Speakers:

A number of speakers will share their experience of the project to date:
  • John Hassett, Ballyhoura Development will share insights and progress of the PHAB project to date;
  • Padraig Fitzgerald, Teagasc will outline the habitat analysis and mapping used;
  • Ruari O Conchuir, Local Authorities Water Programme will discuss water quality the role of the Local Authorities Water Programme and look ahead to future requirements of the CAP;
  • Tony Watson of the BRIDE Project will outline the aims, objectives and learnings of the BRIDE programme;
  • Local farmers share their experiences.
Refreshments are provided afterwards.
