Part-time (22.5 hour weekly) position for a duration of 3 years with a 6-month review
Location: Mitchelstown/Charleville areas of Ballyhoura Development, North Cork

This is a new and exciting non-clinical post for someone who enjoys and engages well with people, has knowledge of the broad range of supports and services provided by community and voluntary organisations, has an interest in Community Mental Health, and who works from an awareness of the social determinants of health.

The Rural Community Health Work Service/Team will work across rural areas of North Cork, including the catchment areas of Ballyhoura Development, IRD Duhallow and Avondhu Blackwater Development, working with and enhancing existing services, to support the development and delivery of a Community Health Programme locally, as modelled on an existing Community Health Worker role.  The role of the Community Health Worker will be focussed on improving the health and lifestyle of the target communities through a series of health-focused initiatives that build on existing services, supports, and facilities.
