With the rise of social media websites, monitoring posts and comments, public relations is an integral part of how business is marketed and received by the public. 

This course is suitable for business owners or employees in charge of event/PR of small to medium scale size who are planning events in the near future or are planning to write their own press releases for new product launches.

Participants will have learned the 12 most important points of a successful press release, feel confident in constructing a press release and will understand how to plan, design and deliver a successful event.


What's involved?

This series of two workshops will be delivered by Elke O’Mahony, Marketing and Business Consultant of Bia Sásta, and will run over the course of two evenings online via Zoom:

Webinar 1: October 19th at 7pm - 9pm

Webinar 2: October 20th at 7pm - 9pm

The training aims to give participants an understanding of:

  • How to identify and create a good business story to promote your business 

  • How event managers plan, design, organise and run events 

  • How to write a press release, create positive image & photographs for the business 

  • How to build a media database and best practices 

  • How to identify the audience 

  • Resources for marketing the event 

  • Ability to differentiate between the concepts and practices of public relations, marketing, advertising, publicity, public information, spin and propaganda 

  • Select strategies and tools to build and manage stakeholder relationships to support public relations activities, organisational objectives. 

  • Produce effective, accessible, and timely print, digital and multimedia communications, independently and collaboratively, to manage specific stakeholder relations and/or issues and achieve organisational objectives

  • Measuring and Evaluating Your Strategies against Key Performance Indicators
