Throughout 2023 the gardening group at Hillview Drive has been learning all about the process of growing plants and flowers from seeds.

The group meets regularly on a weekday night, and during term time, and is facilitated by Paul FLynn, the Horticultural Expert from CETB.

So far this year, they have learned about potting and repotting a multitude of different plants, such as popcorn, walnut trees, Saxifraga, peas, onions and kale.

The group also had a field trip to Mannix College to visit the huge polytunnel, where they spotted beautiful Chard and Brassica.

The gardening group is a welcoming and diverse mix of women from around the Battview Matters project. If you are interested in joining the group from September onwards and participating in a CETB registered short course, contact Ella Conway, Family Support Worker, on 087-0988822 or [email protected].
