Join us for a hands-on workshop and take the first steps towards planting and growing your own food!
In our final public event of the Shared Green Deal, 'Stop, Look & Listen: Preserving the Biodiversity of Ballyhoura' project, we will hold a container planting workshop. The workshop's purpose is to thank the participants and the public for their participation in the project, which has been running since May 2023.

Attendees will have the opportunity to plant a container of herbs which they can then nurture either in their own garden or in a public space in their community.


The event will be held on the evening of the 26th June in the Millenium Centre, Caherconlish, there will be 2 times 7pm-8pm and 8.15pm- 9pm. The workshop with be planting some herbs which are great for biodiversity, are edible and are sustainable plants as they are perennial.


What to Expect:

  • Plant a herb container - each attendee will plant a container of herbs to nurture in their own garden or a public space in their community. Herbs are great for biodiversity, are edible and are sustainable plants as they are perennial.
  • The workshop will be facilitated as part of the 'Preserving Biodiversity' strand of the Shared Green Deal project, which aims to encourage community members to support biodiversity in their everyday actions, and within their broader communities.
  • Connect with fellow community members, Shared Green Deal participants, Tidy Towns groups, and others passionate about biodiversity and planting.
