Ballyhoura Development and partner organisations in Italy, Portugal and Romania, have developed a suite of training to support organisations and communities groups in developing a more youth-led local development approach.

This project aims to increase youth inclusion in Community-Led Local Development across the EU. Full details and the training schedule to be confirmed.

Who?

• Young people aged 18-30 years with an interest in volunteering with a local community group to take part in a community development training programme. This will include a learning workshop in Italy (8 places available, one person per organisation/Community group).

What & When? 

• Workshops to commence in Ireland across June 2023.
• Trip to Potenza Italy from 3^rd-10^th September 2023.

Why? 

• Participants will have the opportunity to meet other young people from across Europe and participate in community-led local development focused workshops, activities and the development of a Tool Kit and policy paper.

Additional information: Travel, accommodation and food expenses are covered by the project. Following the training participants will be asked develop their learnings within their own organisation or community group and provide feedback to the project. Training will be in English and there will be 8 representatives from each of the 4 partner countries.

How to apply?

In order to apply for this opportunity, a young person aged 18-30 will need to supply the following:

• Letter from a local community group in the Ballyhoura area. The young person will be expected to work with the local community group to implement their learning. The letter should outline why the community group thinks the young person is suitable and what volunteering opportunities are available for this young person.
• CV of young person outlining their education and experience.
• Application letter from the young person detailing why they think they are suitable, their experience, why they want to volunteer in their local community and why they want to participate in this programme.
