Women from Charleville and the surrounding areas enjoyed a morning of relaxation and healthy nourishment recently at the Battview Matters project.

Battview Matters was joined by a group of women on June 12th to take a moment for themselves and indulge in some self-care. Facilitated by Geraldine Lyons of Breaking Beyond, the morning started with some beauty and skincare tips. Participants then sampled a brown sugar body scrub, followed by a moisturising oat and honey mask. All products were created in the workshop using common household ingredients.

A 4-page booklet of homemade recipes was presented to each participant, with extra recipes to try at home.

This was followed by a smoothie-making workshop that encouraged participants to try new fruit and vegetable combinations, doubling up on the benefits by adding plant-based milk and Greek yogurt.

The morning ended with an hour of relaxing yoga, kindly taught by Joanne O'Callaghan.
