Ballyhoura Fáilte and Ballyhoura Development CLG supported by Fáilte Ireland and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands are proud to host a FREE Mini-Conference to support all types of tourism accommodation providers across the Ballyhoura region.

Do you have an AirBnB, Self-Catering Property, Glamp-Site, B&B, Caravan or Camping Site or any other accommodation that you rent out, either full or part-time, as tourist accommodation?

Are you developing accommodation that you plan to open in time for the 2024 season?

Then this event is for you!

We know that rising costs and new legislation are creating a challenging environment for tourism, and particularly for accommodation providers and we have designed this day to provide support, information and practical skills which will prepare your accommodation business for a thriving future.

We know that working together as a region to support each other and our communities, as well as to highlight the natural beauty and many visitor attractions of the Ballyhoura region, provides invaluable strength to businesses, and so, in addition to the programme of speakers, the day will create space for peer-to-peer learning through networking, both formally and informally throughout the day.

It is our intention that the peer-to-peer network created at this event will endure and form an ongoing supportive forum for the tourism industry across the Ballyhoura region.

What's on the Programme?

  • An introduction to the National Quality Assurance Framework including Fáilte Ireland’s Welcome Standard.
  • The benefits of being part of the Fáilte Ireland National Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Learn how to access Fáilte Ireland business supports.
  • Energy use and reduction session for accommodation providers.
  • Information on SEAI grants that may be available.
  • Discover sustainable energy solutions and how to implement them in your business.
  • Meet your accommodation peers and network with the wider tourism industry.
  • Discover the many visitor attractions that span the Ballyhoura region.
  • Sample local produce and meet local suppliers.
  • Enjoy a ‘taste of Ballyhoura’ with a delicious lunch featuring local produce.
  • Get to grips with Instagram with a specially tailored Instagram for Tourism training session focussed specifically on accommodation businesses.

Demonstrating our commitment to regenerative tourism practices, we will use only local suppliers ensuring that the day will be a net positive contributor to our communities.

Registration for this event is free of charge for accommodation providers operating in the Ballyhoura region or those planning to open an accommodation business in 2024.

You will be asked to provide details of your business on registration, this information will not be shared with anyone other than Ballyhoura Development staff. You may receive a follow-up call. A waiting list will operate, and priority will be given according to the stipulations laid out above.
