Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards 2023

Join us to celebrate the achievements of the Tidy Towns groups across the Ballyhoura Region!

Ballyhoura Development is delighted to announce that the Ballyhoura Tidy Towns Awards ceremony this year will take place in Caherconlish.

The Ballyhoura Country Tidy Towns Awards are an annual celebration of the achievements of the many Tidy Towns groups in Ballyhoura Country, and are a great opportunity to reconnect with all of the Volunteers who make the Tidy Towns Groups such a success.

The Awards ceremony is now in its 33rd year, and we have over 35 entrants this year! Prizes will be awarded in 4 categories, including a new award that celebrates the achievements of Tidy Towns groups in the area of biodiversity and sustainability.

This year’s event will be kindly hosted by Caherconlish Tidy Towns and will be held in the Millennium Centre, Caherconlish, on Thursday the 21st of September from 7pm.

As well as the presentation of awards and refreshments, there will be:

•  A talk by an experienced Tidy Towns adjudicator - Billy Flynn - on how Tidy Towns Groups can better manage their green spaces and incorporate some edible planting into their landscaping. Billy also wrote the section on the Nature and Biodiversity section in the new Tidy Towns handbook, so there will be much to learn from him!
• An opportunity to meet An Taisce’s Climate Ambassador for Limerick and to find out more about the challenges of climate change, and how Tidy Towns Groups can address some of these challenges.
• A guided walk will be hosted by Caherconlish Tidy Towns showcasing Tidy Towns projects led by.

All Tidy Towns groups across Ballyhoura Country are welcome to attend!
