Social Business Educational Ecosystem (SocialB) Symposium will take place on Friday, November 18th, from 9am to 2pm at Croom Community Enterprise Centre, Co. Limerick.

Launch of new, innovative Training & Education Models for Social Enterprise Development & Scaling with Networking Lunch

A number of speakers will share their experience of the project to date:

  • Briga Hynes - Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at University of Limerick Kemmy Business School, with a particular focus on social enterprise;
  • TUS and Ballyhoura Development (Ireland) will set the Irish and European context for the need for SocialB;
  • University of Patras and Olympic Training (Greece) will outline the main findings of the project and focus on the development of SocialB training toolkits;
  • University of Ljubliana and DAKO (Slovenia) will give the EU-wide perspective on SE education and training and demonstrate the SocialB website and platform;
  • Programma Integra and University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy) will provide the recommendations arising from SocialB.

There will also be a series of Spotlights on Irish Social Enterprises, including Croom Community Enterprise Centre and Clarecare.

SocialB (Social Business Educational EcoSystem for Sustainability and Growth) is a collaboration between 8 partners from the social enterprise, training and Higher Education sectors in 4 countries – Ireland, Greece, Italy and Slovenia.

The SocialB Project team has designed, developed, and piloted an accessible suite of learning resources to support individual and organisational learning in the field of social enterprise.  Learning resources have been presented in the framework of blended learning materials in 24 Learning Units and have been designed to address identified skills gaps and training needs in key areas for the development, sustainability and expansion of the Social Enterprise sector by integrating a learner-centred approach oriented to real, problem-based learning and skills acquisition in the field of social entrepreneurship.
