Ballyhoura Development would like to congratulate the communities across the Ballyhoura area that have planted over 700 native tree saplings as part of National Tree Week 2024!

Groups were supplied with a variety of tree species to plant, including Rowan, Oak, and Scots Pine, in keeping with the National Tree Week theme of ‘Planting Trees for a Greener Future’.

These trees will make a significant impact in the community environments where they have been planted for many years to come, as they can act as a carbon sink, prevent flooding, reduce pollution, enrich soil, and increase biodiversity.

Thanks to EasyTreesie for donating the trees as part of their campaign to plant 1 million trees for Ireland's 1 million children.

Congratulations to all the communities that took part in National Tree Week 2024!

Thanks to Crann - Trees for Ireland  and the  Coillte nurseries for donating the trees and to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine for providing financial support to the project.
