Ballyhoura Development is taking part in the #BulbsForBees. This is a national call to action to protect bees. Community and Tidy Towns groups will be encouraged to plant pollinator-friendly bulbs as part of Irelands biggest ever pollination Project.

These bulbs will flower next spring and help communities to highlight the important role that bees play in mitigating climate change and protecting native biodiversity.

A special challenge #BulbsForBees has been created to celebrate the 35th anniversary of GAISCE.

This challenge was designed with the All Island Pollinator Plan in mind and is supported by President Michael D. Higgins. Community groups are being asked to plant pollinator-friendly bulbs this Autumn, to flower next Spring.

#BulbsforBees is a national call to action in the fight against climate change and the battle to protect biodiversity. It will give community groups the opportunity to take part and realize their potential to make a positive difference.

Anyone can get involved in the project and you can register for a digital certificate of participation for your community group. By working together we can make #BulbsForBees the biggest ever pollination project in Ireland.

“In an era defined by the great environmental challenges of biodiversity loss and climate change, it has never been more important to remember the most powerful antidote to despair is action" - The All Ireland Pollinator Plan.

Registration to take part in #BulbsForBees is now closed.

There are no longer any bulbs available. Thank You to all the community groups that took part in the project.
