The STAR Awards are an awards initiative coordinated by AONTAS as part of the annual Adult Learners' Festival to acknowledge the fantastic work undertaken by adult learning initiatives throughout Ireland.

The STAR Awards will take on extra significance in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic as we celebrate and acknowledge the incredible work that adult learning providers have done in adapting their provision to ensure that the learners’ needs continue to be met. Now in their 15th year, the STAR Awards recognise outstanding work in adult learning.

The STAR Awards also give initiatives the opportunity to spotlight their excellent work across Ireland and bring national recognition to learners, staff and organising bodies.

Ballyhoura Development's East Limerick Traveller Project has been shortlisted in the initiatives that support Health and Wellbeing Category. This category is open to adult learning initiatives that support increased health and wellbeing for participants, for example, mental health, physical activity and nutrition.

The East Limerick Traveller Project supports Health and wellbeing and aims to improve health outcomes for members of the Travelling Community in East Limerick.
