In 2019 communities and volunteers across the Ballyhoura area were invited to input their thoughts on how volunteers could be better supported and developed into the future. Following public submissions, an advisory group worked with the Department of Rural and Community Development to form a draft strategy. The Department has now opened consultations on the Draft of the National Volunteering Strategy for 2020-2025.

The purpose of the Strategy is to recognise, support and promote the unique value and contribution of volunteers to our society.

Ballyhoura Development again encourage local volunteers and communities to have their say on the final strategy by making a submission. The closing date for submissions is Friday 31st January 2020. Submissions can be made by email to [email protected].
