Well done to the communities across the Ballyhoura area that have planted over 700 native tree saplings as part of National Tree Week 2023! 

Groups were supplied with a variety of tree species to plant, including Rowan, Willow, Birch and Oak, in keeping with the National Tree Week theme of ‘Biodiversity Begins with Trees’.  

Planting trees can benefit the environment in many ways, they can: act as a carbon sink; prevent flooding; reduce pollution; enrich soil; and increase biodiversity.
