The Walks Scheme aims to enhance and maintain key walking trails including National Waymarked Ways, Looped Walking Routes and Heritage Routes by providing support to landowners whose land they traverse.

The Walks Scheme is aimed at private landowners who each receive a payment for carrying out a specified and agreed maintenance plan for approved walking routes which traverse their land (up to 5 year contracts).
