In this interactive workshop as part of Limerick's Lifelong Learning Week Festival, find out more about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in an interesting and interactive way, and about where they came from and how they are interdependent and closely linked.

Why Should You Attend?

The Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by all 193 United Nations Member states in 2015, represent a global call to action to end poverty, protect our planet, and ensure prosperity for everyone. Through this workshop, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the SDGs, their origins, and how they're all interlinked, playing a crucial role in sustainable development.

What Will You Learn?

  • The Importance of SDGs: Discover why the SDGs matter and how they apply to people living in Ireland, especially within our local community.
  • Interconnectivity of Goals: Learn about the interdependence of the SDGs and how they work together to achieve a sustainable future.
  • Practical Actions: Find out more about the simple, practical actions which you and your community can undertake to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Community Engagement: There will be an opportunity to discuss and devise actions which you, as an individual, community group or business, can undertake to contribute towards the SDGs and the targets within them.

This workshop will be facilitated by Ballyhoura Development, one of the 2023/24 Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Champion Organisations appointed by the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications.
