The STAR Awards are an awards initiative coordinated by AONTAS as part of the annual Adult Learners' Festival to acknowledge the fantastic work undertaken by adult learning initiatives throughout Ireland.

This prestigious award recognises the outstanding work achieved by the project in adult learning and supporting the health and wellbeing of the Travelling Community in East Limerick.

The East Limerick Traveller Project supports Health and Wellbeing and aims to improve health outcomes for members of the Travelling Community in East Limerick.

The project is coordinated by Ballyhoura Development and funded by the HSE Traveller Health Unit and the Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP). Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB) provide training hours to the project. On Thursday 4th of March, Learners, Ballyhoura Development staff and board members as well as representatives of the HSE Traveller Health Unit and LCETB will attend the AONTAS STAR award ceremony online.

This ceremony is part of the AONTAS annual Adult Learners' Festival which acknowledges the fantastic work undertaken by adult learning initiatives throughout Ireland. The theme of this years festival is #bettertogether.
