Adult social dancing classes in rural areas provide an enjoyable and accessible way to stay active while building social connections within the community.

These relaxed classes are designed to reduce social isolation, support physical wellbeing, and create a welcoming space for people to meet, move, and enjoy time together.

Regular participation in social dancing helps improve mobility, balance, coordination, and cardiovascular fitness, supporting independence and confidence as we age. Just as importantly, dancing together encourages conversation, peer support, and a sense of belonging — particularly valuable in rural settings where opportunities to socialise can be limited.

What to Expect:

These relaxed social dancing classes with Gina will focus on easy-to-follow social dances, including waltz, cha cha, in line dance, foxtrot, and other popular styles.

The emphasis is on having fun, building confidence, and enjoying the music, rather than perfecting every step. No partner or previous dance experience is necessary, making these classes an ideal opportunity to try something new in a supportive and welcoming atmosphere.

Following each class, everyone is invited to stay for tea, coffee, and a chat. This social time is just as important as the dancing, offering a chance to make new friends, catch up with neighbours, and enjoy the sense of community that these afternoons provide.

No previous dancing experience is required. Classes are suitable for all levels and are delivered in a friendly, informal environment.

Tea and coffee will be provided afterwards, offering time to chat and socialise.
