Ballyhoura Development is delighted to announce that it has been awarded Erasmus+ Accreditation from Leargas, the National Contact Point for the Erasmus+ Programme in Ireland

Having Erasmus Accreditation recognises the relevant experience and capacity of Ballyhoura Development to carry out Erasmus projects and, as a guarantee of quality, ensures that Ballyhoura Development follow a core set of EU wide Erasmus quality standards.

The accreditation will provide some of our learners and staff with the opportunity to travel to other European countries and experience job shadowing and learning opportunities over the next five years. Core areas of learning identified include climate change, digital skills and inclusive community led local development.

Launched in 2014, the Erasmus+ Programme has created numerous opportunities for mobility and cooperation in education, training, youth and sport across Europe. These learning experiences have provided valuable skills and experience to participants, and helped to modernise education, training, and youth work.

The new Programme (2021-2027) aims to be even more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable. Important goals include supporting the digital transition in European education and helping to build the European Education Area. To achieve these objectives Erasmus accreditation provides Ballyhoura Development with access to learning mobility opportunities and supports to deliver professional and personal development opportunities for staff and learners.
