Kilmallock Community and Family Support Project is a collaboration between Ballyhoura Development CLG and Tusla with an activation budget funded by SICAP. It has been very busy this year, what started with remote engagement has finally wound up with in-person summer camps for the children of the Afterschool club in Kilmallock.

As restrictions eased it was great to see a return of groups to our Ballyhoura Resource Centre, Coote Hall, Kilmallock. Both of our action-packed days were facilitated by Ballyhoura Beo.

Young people of Kilmallock had two wonderful days of forest fun, they enjoyed games such as obstacle courses, lawn games, art & craft, and a trip to the forest park in the Ballyhoura Mountains.

In the Ballyhoura mountains, the young people enjoyed mountain biking, forest trail walks, building a hut from wood in the forest, filtering water in a stream, and plenty of free play opportunities.

All of this fun was rounded off by having a healthy picnic on both days and on the last day the group enjoyed a wrap-up party, with a disco, a karaoke session, and a dance-off! Each one of the children was presented with a certificate for excellence and participation, and a party pack at the end of the 2 days of fun. 😊
