Ballyhoura Beo is a Community Services Programme (CSP) managed and supported by Ballyhoura Development, which supports the delivery of outdoor recreation and environmental education programmes, activities and events across the Ballyhoura area of east Limerick and north Cork.

Ballyhoura Beo was established in 2015, and seeks to establish itself as a viable, sustainable social economy business.  It aims to provide a diverse range of outdoor recreational and environmental activities and services to appeal to customers of all ages and fitness levels, with a particular focus on promoting participation amongst marginalised and traditionally excluded groups, through a competitive pricing structure, and a range of low and/or no-cost taster sessions.

The BBeo team offers a diverse range of services, including:

  • Corporate Team Building events, from 1/2 day to 2 days, in the Ballyhoura Mountains, incorporating Trail walks, mountain-biking, orienteering, and related team-building activities.
  • Bike for Life Cycling Programmes for companies, communities and/or interested groups.
  • Interactive, participative environmental education and recycling workshops with children and young people of all ages.
  • Mindfulness walks for groups of all ages and fitness levels.
  • Interactive tours of Griston Bog Outdoor Classroom.
  • Environmental Education activities for primary and secondary school students
