Ballyhoura Development implements the SICAP Programme across the Ballyhoura area, by providing supports and services to people who are unemployed, children and families from areas classified as disadvantaged, and people living in communities which are classified as disadvantaged and local community groups. The programme is delivered through a community development approach, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership, equality and anti-discrimination.

Supports and services are delivered across two Programme Goals:

Goal 1: Support communities and target groups to engage with relevant stakeholders in identifying and addressing social exclusion and equality issues, developing the capacity of Local Community Groups, and creating more sustainable communities.

Goal 2: To support disadvantaged individuals to improve the quality of their lives through the provision of lifelong learning and labour market supports.

A wide range of supports are provided to individuals and communities through SICAP, including accredited and non-accredited training, one-to-one and group mentoring, employment and enterprise supports, community networking, themed events, community planning supports and much more.

If you would like to avail of some of the training, supports or services provided through SICAP, contact your local Development Officer.
