Ballyhoura Development is currently recruiting for a number of vacancies on the Rural Social Scheme in administration and community-based Roles. No prior experience required - a willingness to learn is key!


To be eligible to work on the Rural Social Scheme, you must be an active farmer or the spouse, daughter, son, brother or sister of an active farmer.

You must also;

  1. be in receipt of Farm Assist 
  2. have an active herd number and;
  3. be in receipt of a qualifying means-tested social welfare payment.

Current Vacancies

At present, we are particularly interested in recruiting participants who have skills in the areas of:

  • Community Support Administration and IT
  • Outdoor Construction Projects
  • Building Maintenance and Caretaking of Community Facilities
  • Craft Trades
  • Machinery Operation (relevant ticket/license required)
  • Van Driving.

We have a shortage of RSS participants in North Cork at present so if you live in that area we would love to hear from you.
