Bringing People Together Through Sport and Physical Activity

The Kilmallock Community Sports Hub is a community-led initiative based in the People's Hall, Kilmallock, supporting people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to become more active, connected, and involved in their community through sport and physical activity.

The Hub aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can come together, participate, and enjoy the many physical, social, and wellbeing benefits of being active.

What is a Community Sports Hub?

The Kilmallock Community Sports Hub works to increase participation in sport and physical activity by making opportunities more accessible, inclusive, and responsive to local community needs.

The Hub will:

  • Support people to become more physically active
  • Promote inclusive and accessible participation opportunities
  • Encourage social connection and community engagement
  • Develop activities based on local interests and needs
  • Work with local organisations, clubs, and community groups
  • Create welcoming opportunities for everyone to get involved

There is something for everyone – regardless of age, ability, experience, or fitness level.

Meet Your Community Sports Hub Coordinator

Hugh Guest

Hugh Guest is the Community Sports Hub Coordinator for Kilmallock.

Hugh works closely with local community groups, organisations, services, and residents to develop inclusive opportunities that encourage people to participate in sport and physical activity.

His role focuses on encouraging participation, developing community connections, and helping create welcoming opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to become more active within their local community.

Who Is It For?

The Hub is open to everyone in the community. Whether you are already active, looking to try something new, hoping to improve your health and wellbeing, or simply interested in meeting new people, the Hub aims to provide opportunities that are welcoming, supportive, and inclusive.

Particular emphasis will be placed on ensuring that opportunities are accessible to people who may face barriers to participation, helping more people to experience the benefits of sport, recreation, and community involvement.

How It Works

The Community Sports Hub takes a community-led approach, listening to local people and responding to the needs and interests of the area. Activities, programmes, and events will be developed through consultation and partnership with community groups, local organisations, and residents.

The Hub will provide information, support, and opportunities that make it easier for people to get involved in physical activity, discover new interests, build confidence, and connect with others. Whether through organised activities, taster sessions, community events, or partnership projects, the Hub will encourage active lifestyles and positive community engagement.
