On January 8th, 2021 The 2021 Town and Village Renewal Scheme was announced and will provide support of over €25 million to more than 500 projects across the country.

The funding, provided through The Department of Rural and Community Development aims to help communities respond to COVID-19 through investment in developing local community amenities, remote working facilities, and enhancing public spaces.

The funding will assist local towns and villages that were successful under the fund to implement projects that can help them to respond to the challenges associated with COVID-19.

The Funding Will:

  • Help communities respond to COVID-19
  • Focus on developing outdoor amenities and enhancing public spaces
  • Support Remote Working in rural communities

Over the last year, Covid 19 has shown how much we rely on our local communities and has rekindled our sense of pride in where we live. The funding will help make local towns and villages safer places to live, work and do business and more attractive places to visit and enjoy.

The Town and Village Renewal Scheme funded by The Department of Rural and Community Development is administered through the Local Authorities, in consultation with local communities will open again in 2021 and communities have the time and opportunity to consider what projects can enhance their local community.

Ballyhoura Development is here to help and support communities in coming together to develop ideas through to the project application stage.
