Glenbrohane Local Hub CLG is seeking your help in raising funds for the construction of the new facility where they intend to create an exciting new space known as The Local Hub.

The Vision of The Local Hub

Glenbrohane, like many other rural Irish villages, has been in decline for many years. With the closure of the local shop and pub; everyday spaces that once provided a place and opportunity for neighbours and friends to physically meet up became few and far between.

Glenbrohane has witnessed the consequences and impact of mental health on community members. To tackle these issues, the community of Glenbrohane came together in 2016 to chart a way forward and the plan to develop a community Hub emerged.  In 2017, The Local Hub Committee acquired the old Sliabh Riadh pub with the wonderful dream of transforming it into a new community facility.

The vision for the Hub, currently under construction, is to create a community resource:

  • To support a sense of social connectedness within the community
  • To ensure people in the community do not feel socially isolated by providing a meeting place and ancillary services open to all
  • To improve the wellbeing and mental health of people living in the community.
