SDG 4 Quality Education aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

SDG 4 is a core part of the work of Ballyhoura Development, in particular Ballyhoura Development is striving to help to achieve Target 4.7 ‘By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development.’

Alongside this, Ballyhoura Development also works towards other targets such as 4.3 and 4.6 through the supports provided to individuals as part of the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) and working alongside other organisations.

What can you do?

  • Organise an SDG workshop in your community

As part of #SDG4 Quality Education, Ballyhoura Development is always delighted to work with groups to strengthen their knowledge of the SDGs and provide a workshop to help communities understand how their work links with Agenda 2030.

Do you know what SDGs your community is working towards? Recently Ballyhoura engaged with the community groups of Milford to discuss the work they are doing to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. From the Tidy Towns working towards #SDG15 Life on Land, the GAA’s importance in achieving #SDG3 Good Health and Wellbeing and the community council’s overall work towards #SDG11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.

If you’re interested in a workshop get in touch and email [email protected].

Why not to sign up and engage in some lifelong learning or recommend to a friend?

  • Learn about the SDGs!

One of the things you can do to further SDG4 is to learn about the SDGs, Agenda 2030 and the whole concept of sustainable development and then share this knowledge with other people, have the hard conversations about promoting the SDGs and what can be done for them.
